Back to Fullspate homeSpot the pigIn the days when you could take a phone only as far as the curly wire would stretch newspapers in England had a quiz called "spot the ball". There was a photo of a scene from a recent football match but the editor had cleverly retouched the picture so you couldn't see where the ball was. You stood a chance of winning a super prize if you managed to spot the ball. With your pen you put a cross on the most likely spot and sent the picture into the paper keeping your fingers crossed. No footballs here. But we do have a photo of one of the local goats. If you could see the original photo you would also see a little pig with its curly little tail. Those who are keen on quizzes will love this challenge: spot the tail of the pig. This is what you need to do: right-click on the picture and save it on your computer; open it in your favourite photo-editing programme; set the programme to draw a line no more than 7 pixels wide; put a cross on the photo where you think the tail of the pig is; save the photo and attach it to an e-mail which also lets us know your name and address; send it to us: fullspate[at]ymail[dot]com. The first person to put a cross on the tail of the pig wins a copy of our favourite book: Dave Egger's "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius". This is a very special copy because it includes all our marginal notes and if you hold it up at the right angle you can see where we put a damp cup of hot chocolate on the back cover. An opportunity not to be missed, so start working out where that pig's tail is!
As soon as we have a winner we will publish the name of the lucky guy plus the original photo so that you can see where Mr Piggy really was and see that we weren't tellng porkies*. (*"Porkies" is an expression used in London - it's short for "pork pies" and is used to refer to "lies" because the two words rhyme.)Back to Fullspate home |
